Remove the states ability to give Marriages, and replace with civil unions (which are already there). Then let it be up to churches, because you can be a gay couple and get a license, but you just can't married. Then the churches can decide. There are actually quite a few that agree with gay marriage, and there are those that still think it is sinful. Due to Gay marriage not affecting me in the slightest, I don't really care if they get married or not.
I think this just takes the stupid-ass arguments out of Senate and Assembly floors.
Yeah, I don't think marriage should have anything to do with government at all.
I think the nationwide age of consent should be 16... >.> but that's my feelings about it. And yes, government should not dictate marriages, for they are a religious sanction.
I think 18 if consent rises to 18. Whichever age consent is, marriage should be. I just think 16 is too young.
